Kansas GOP Redistricting Ploy Strengthens Rep. Sharice Davids?!?

A denizen of our blog community offers a quick counterpoint against convention right-wing wisdom that isn't always correct despite overwhelming GOP support.

Here's the word . . .

"We're watching Kansas Republicans shoot themselves in the foot again by putting all of their energy into redistricting Congresswoman Sharice Davids out of a job. They're basically admitting that they're afraid of her and can no longer win in Wyandotte or a growing part of Johnson County. Whatever happens with the lines, what voters will see is fear and the admission that large populations support her as a candidate so much so that they have to be divided. It's not a smart strategy and that's why your readers shouldn't be surprised to see some Republicans stand against it. It's better to compete against her in a fair election than face the perception that you had change the rules of the game to win."

More deets about the process still in play . . .

"The Senate voted 24-15 on Monday to override Kelly's veto of a measure making it harder for the state's only Democrat in Congress to win reelection. But Republican leaders needed 27 votes in the 40-member chamber. Senators can reconsider Tuesday, giving GOP leaders one more shot."
