Kansas City Valentine's 'Love Night' Playlist

There's more to talk about but tonight we just can't help "sharing the love" with our blog community.

In fact it's important to show readers a bit of affection because they're not getting it anywhere else.

Check the data . . .

"Twenty-six percent of Americans ages 18 and up didn't have sex once over the past 12 months, according to the 2021 General Social Survey. You might think this is just a pandemic effect, but it's part of a long-term trend. The two years with next-highest percentage of adults saying they didn't have sex once in the past year were 2016 (23%) and 2018 (23%) -- the last two times the survey was conducted. Before 2004, the highest percentage of Americans who said they hadn't had sex in the past year was 19%. "

Rather than cast blame . . . This sad state of affairs, or lack thereof, might be the reason that so many denizens of the online discourse seem so angry.

Accordingly . . .

Tonight we could celebrate/decry all of the COVID rules that have come crumbling down.

We could fear the end of the world by way of nuclear war amid the pending Russian invasion of Ukraine.

OR . . .

We could simply enjoy some tunes on the topic of loving . . .

Psychedelic rock starts us out . . .

Disco Swedes come in second with this uplifting tune . . .

Today our most popular post was on the topic of old school hip-hop . . . And so tonight we share what is likely the first rap music ballad on the topic of love and longing . . .

Revisiting the topic of "Somebody To Love" tonight . . .

With all respect for "the king" of rock & roll. Fat Elvis singing love songs always makes me smile.

As always, we hope the lovers out there will keep safe, use protection and have fun.

At the risk of revealing too much, but in the spirit of full disclosure, after V-day we probably won't post until later in the morning depending on the condition of our wrists . . . STAY TUNED!!!
