Kansas City Royals Fans Consider Wealth Disparity


We start this week looking forward to warmer weather and the end of this dark winter. And all of THAT means baseball season an enjoying the Royals losing in a mostly empty stadium.

Still, there is no escaping the current American culture war.

Accordingly, here's a peek at a recent fan missive on the team, owners and the current labor dispute:

"Your average baseball fan has no idea how much the average professional baseball player makes. This is perfectly understandable—your average baseball fan doesn’t pull up Fangraphs and Baseball-Reference on the daily. But it also means that an awful lot of baseball fans incorrectly assume that baseball players are all rich in the same way that casual concertgoers think that their favorite bands are rolling in the dough."
