Kansas City 2022 Homicide #16: Double Shooting Leaves One Dead

This year the local homicide count continues to spike quickly early in the year.

KCMO is already outpacing last year's total which was the 2nd highest year for killings in local history.

Here's the first report . . .

Homicide 7th and Spruce

This morning just after 2am two adult male shooting victims arrived at NKC hospital by private vehicle.

Preliminary information was that the shooting possibly occurred in the 700 block of Spruce. Officers responded to that location and located an apparent crime scene.

One of the victims is being treated for serious injuries, and the other victim was declared deceased by medical staff.

Detectives and crime scene personnel are processing the scene now for evidence and canvassing for witnesses.
