More Deadly Kansas City Gunfire Erupts At 12th & Topping

Far more important than reports of post-coital playoff victory chest thumping, right now we share news of the 2nd deadly shooting overnight to start this Kansas City morning.

Homicide 12th and Topping

This morning at 1:45am, officers were called to E 12th St and Topping Ave on an injury crash.  Upon arrival, officers located the victim, an adult male, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds inside a vehicle which had crashed off the side of the road.  EMS responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

Detectives and Crime Scene Personnel have responded to the scene.  They will be processing the scene for evidence and canvassing for any potential witnesses.

Unofficially, this is probably the 6th or 7th homicide so far this year and that puts us right back on pace with 2020 & 2021 numbers.
