Kansas City MLK Interfaith Service Sunday

Sunday tribute to people we admire quite a bit . . .

On Sunday, January 9 at 1:30 p.m., the Greater Kansas City Martin Luther King Interfaith Service will be held at Community Christian Church, 4601 Main St, KCMO 64112.

The keynote speaker will be the Rev. Emanuel Cleaver II, U.S. Representative, 5th Congressional District.

The 2022  Martin Luther King Interfaith Service is sponsored by the Greater Kansas City chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and the Jewish Community Relations Bureau |American Jewish Committee on behalf of the interfaith community of Greater Kansas City.

The service will include music by Cantors from local Jewish congregations, The Kansas City Boys Choir, The Kansas City Girls Choir, and Millie Edwards and TIm Whitmer.

This event will also honor Rabbi Doug Alpert (Rabbi of Congregation Kol Ami), Patricia Jones Macklin (past President of the GKC Chapter of the A. Philip Randolph Institute), and Anita L. Russell (former President of the Kansa City, Missouri Chapter of the NAACP) as recipients of the 2022 Evelyn Wasserstrom Awards.

This event is open to the public at no charge.
