Kansas City Mayor Q Overshadowed In Fight To Pick New Top Cop?!?

In a FAILED palace coup last year, Mayor Q might have inadvertently diminished his power in picking the new Kansas City Chief of Police.

More to the point . . .

THE KANSAS CITY STAR HAS APPOINTED URBAN LEAGUE LEADER GWEN GRANT TO PICK THE NEXT CHIEF BECAUSE MAYOR Q NOW HAS WASTED INFLUENCE ON THE POLICE BOARD!!!

Remember . . .

Just last year all of the other police commissioners signed on to a letter saying the Chief Smith was "in good standing" in order to thwart the 12th & Oak rumor mill claiming that the police honcho was forced out.

Even worse . . .

Mayor Q is gearing up for another police budget lawsuit fight after losing his last argument for a sketchy slush fund.

And so a trusted insider shares an important perspective . . .

"It's ironic but Chief Smith might have more influence over the selection of a new candidate than Mayor Q and that's despite his vote on the Police Board. The mayor has alienated himself from the other commissioners with his political double dealing. He doesn't have their trust. And so, activists are trying to make waves to drum up donations but the reality is that the police commissioners alone are responsible for making the decision. They could do the whole thing behind closed doors if they wanted. But what's for sure is that the mayor's input will be minimal."
