The worsening COVID pandemic close to home for Kansas City's "first family" according to a tweet posted Sunday night.
Skeptics might question the value of the vaxx & testing if it didn't protect Mayor Q and his fam whilst supporters of current public health policy would, in turn, respond that the treatments likely prevented far more serious illness.
Either way . . .
There's little doubt that COVID continues to impact the metro and will set the national & local agenda again this year.
Here's the social media statement from Mayor Q . . .
"Unfortunately, the illness did catch up to my wife and baby," Lucas tweeted. "I know everyone will be fine, but, as many parents have experienced, it hurts to see the little one affected."
"On Friday, Lucas said he was fully vaccinated, including receiving his third shot. "
No matter what side of the issue locals might fall on . . . The TKC blog community wishes the mayor & his fam a speedy recovery.
