Only the most cynical souls count this as any real progress against Kansas City's all time record breaking year for homicides achieved in 2020.
There is no doubt . . . Deadly crime is getting worse.
And so far there isn't any viable plan to confront it.

One dead following shooting in Kansas City
KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) --- Kansas City police are on scene of a fatal shooting. The 158th homicide of 2021 happened in the 7600 block of E. 50th Street. Police were called out to a shooting at around 10 p.m. Friday evening. No arrest has been made in the case.
One person shot to death late Friday in KCMO
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Gunfire killed one person late Friday in Kansas City, Missouri. The shooting happened about 9:45 p.m. in 7600 block of East 50th Street. No other information was immediately available on what led to the violence. The victim's name has not been released.
