Kansas City 2022 Homicide #9: Woman Shot Dead Amid Screaming

Kansas City counted two murders today despite bone chilling temperatures.

Accordingly, this town continues to trend along a record breaking pace. Remember that last year KC suffered the 2n highest murder count in local history and right now we're pushing ahead of that pace. 

At this time in 2021 there were 7 KCMO murders. Tonight's shooting makes it 9 so far and unofficially.

Homicide 8800 Block of Crystal Lane

Tonight just before 10 PM officers were dispatched to the 8800 block of Crystal Lane on a shooting. Upon arrival they responded to an apartment where they heard screaming and calls for help. As they entered they found an adult female who had been shot. They began lifesaving measures at that time. EMS responded and pronounced the victim deceased. 

Detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to the scene and are actively canvassing for witnesses and processing the scene for evidence. Woman killed in Kansas City apartment shooting Tuesday night

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -- A woman was killed in a south Kansas City apartment shooting Tuesday night, and police have not identified a suspect. Officers responded just before 10 p.m. to The Reserve At South Pointe, an apartment complex at Crystal Lane and Eastern Avenue, in response to a shooting.
