"We actually did over 5,000 flu tests last year and not one of them was positive," said Dr. Mark Steele, of University Health in Kansas City.

Doctors said that this year, it is a different story. The flu is back.

Steele said that this flu season it is going to be just as important to continue to do the things we've been doing for nearly two years now. He said that whether it's the flu or another coronavirus variant we're dealing with, we all just have to stay vigilant.

"Washing your hands, socially distance, wear a mask," Steele said.
