Kansas City Political Life Lesson For Mayor Q

We've heard this twice this week from people we talk to and trust and it's worth repeating . . .

Given that politicos are gearing up to start their campaigns in the new year, we'll share this simply rule of Kansas City politics . . .

DON'T FIGHT WITH POLICE OR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT!!!

We doubt that this axiom has changed despite a cultural shift.

Here's even more insight . . . 

Firefighters might offer their endorsement but as far as the rank & file voting goes . . . Police & fire rarely cast their ballots against each other.

Again . . .

We're not talking about social justice, activism or even right & wrong. It's simply a matter of EXPEDIENCY . . . Any Kansas City politico taking on police or fire is committing political suicide.

We'll talk about this more later but for now we simply wanted to throw out this truism for discussion.
