Kansas City Advises Against NYE Celebratory Gunfire

"Shooting your gun to celebrate the New Year is not a celebration. It’s a danger to society."

Mayor Q adds . . .

Please advise those you know and those you love not to fire guns in the air this New Year’s Eve and to not bring them out to entertainment districts.

Let’s be easier on our neighbors, our officers, and our children and have a safe start to the New Year without shots ringing out . . .

Again, we don't disagree one bit and hope the advice is taken seriously.

Meanwhile, there's word that the cold and the scarcity and rising cost of bullets might help curb the dangerous local tradition.
