Kansas City 2021 Murder Spike Cont'd Christmas: Deadly Raytown Rd. Gunfire


This news just came in and we think it's important to note. 

Local deadly gunfire persists and 2021 remains the 2nd deadliest year in Kansas City history.

We didn't want to blog anymore today but this killing got us thinking about KCPD and their tireless personnel. They're out there EVERY DAY AND NIGHT. 

They take criticism, some justified other merely political . . . Nevertheless they keep working. 

And so, just as mere acknowledgment of so many people who labor in this town. We share this report on the reality of life on local streets and the latest KCMO killing . . .

Homicide 4900 Block Of Raytown Rd

This morning about 11:45 am officers were dispatched to the 4900 block of Raytown Rd on a sound of gunshots call. 

When officers arrived they located a vehicle off the road on the south side of Raytown Rd.

The vehicle had what appeared to be gunshot/bullet damage about it, and officers located an adult male victim inside the vehicle that appeared to have been shot.

EMS responded and declared the victim deceased here at the scene.

Preliminary investigation indicates that someone in another unknown vehicle fired shots into this vehicle injuring the victim and then left the scene.

If anyone was in this area around 11:30-11:45am and they saw anything that stands out they are asked to contact the Homicide Unit directly at 816-234-5043 or the TIPS hotline anonymously at 816-474-TIPS, There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest in this case.
