Kansas City 2021 Homicide Count Hits Homicide #142 After Latest Deadly East Side Shooting

The Kansas City homicide count continues to escalate at the year's end and amid increasing tension betwixt political leaders and the police.

Again . . .

Unofficially, this is homicide #142 so far this year compared to 171 at this time last year and 141 the year before that . . . Here's the report:

Homicide 3600 block of E 46th Ter

This morning about 4:45 AM officers were called to 46th Terrace and Bales on a shooting call.  When they arrived they found an adult male who had been shot, unresponsive in the front yard of a residence there.

Officers summoned EMS to the scene who declared the victim deceased.

Responding officers have one person, who was at the scene when they arrived, detained for further investigation and detectives are speaking with them now.

Crime scene investigators are processing the scene for evidence and detectives are canvassing for any witnesses.

KCPD investigating overnight shooting early Saturday morning

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Police Department are investigating an overnight shooting early Saturday morning. Officers were dispatched to 46th Terrance and Bales on a shooting call around 4:45 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found a man in the front yard of a residence. He died at the scene.
