Kansas City 2021 Homicide #141: Woman Dead After Double Shooting

The latest local killing in Kansas City is keeping police busy as they investigate the crime scene overnight.

Unofficially, this is homicide #141 so far this year compared to 171 at this time last year and 141 the year before that . . .

However, already Kansas City has surpassed the 2018 homicide count which only totaled 138 for the year . . . 

Here's the first report . . .

Homicide 7900 block of E. 88th Place

Tonight just after 10:30 PM officers were dispatched on a shooting in the 7900 block of E. 88th Pl.

Upon arrival they found two victims who had been shot. One adult female was unresponsive and officers began CPR. EMS arrived and pronounced that victim deceased.

The other victim, an adult male, was transported to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

A subject of interest has been developed but is not in custody at this time.

Detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to the scene and are actively canvassing for witnesses and processing the scene.
