Jackson County Legislator Tony Miller Confronts Primary Trouble

Courthouse inside baseball here but it's important . . .

JACKSON COUNTY LEGISLATOR TONY MILLER CONFRONTS TOUGH PRIMARY CHALLENGE FROM LEE'S SUMMIT!!!

His opponent is a serious person and her record offers an critical glimpse at how she could oust the legal eagle politico . . .

Megan Marshall was elected to the Board of Education in June 2020. She is the first African American elected to the Lee’s Summit Board of Education. She retired from the United States Marine Corps in April 2020, after 20 years of active duty, with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer.

And so . . .

Special thanks to readers for sending us this news item, we asked around and here's why it's a big deal:

Tony Miller is a 3rd District At-Large Legislator but his progressive voting record looks like he hangs out a coffee shop in the Crossroads all day.

A trusted insider puts it even better . . .

"He represents Eastern Jack but he votes with Crystal Williams most of the time. A lot of his constituents are getting tired of it and want somebody more in line with their values."

Moreover . . .

From a progressive perspective, competing against an upstart female with an impressive résumé is always tough for an incumbent.

Finally . . .

There is a great deal of frustration with Jackson County officials overall. A candidate for change and some mind for reform in the ongoing property tax hot mess should do well.

Accordingly . . .

Democratic Party primaries in Jackson County are NEVER dull and we look forward to seeing how this one plays out.

Developing . . .
