HOMELESS BOOTED & RELOCATED IN THE DOTTE AMID WINTER STORM WATCH!!!

This story has been making the around amid activists via social media and it's about time our blog community considered it . . .

Here are the basics . . .

Cross-Lines Community Outreach operates the county's emergency shelter on frigid nights.

However, the organization said that on Tuesday, newly elected Mayor Tyrone Garner decided not to allow them to use the building at 5th Street and State Avenue as was originally planned.

This view might be unpopular but we understand the political calculation at play.

Call it pecking order theory in practice.

As inflation rises and life becomes harder for the working-class . . . Generally, there's less sympathy for those further down the food chain.

Caveat . . . Poor people are some of the most generous folks you've met and most of them will give you the shirt off their back if you REALLY need it.

However . . .

The current homeless crisis is also a failure of politicos & activists to talk seriously about endemic drug abuse & mental health issues that can't be solved with a warm bed for a few nights.

Voters understand this complexity even if mainstream & social media often gloss over the problem . . .
