Crystal Williams Struggles To Name Successor: Zac Sweets Skips Her Blessing

Let's start this post with a bit of wisdom that Kansas City political insiders have shared with us . . .

Endorsements are overrated.

Kansas City politicos make a big deal of them but approval from the old guard doesn't really have much quantifiable influence upon the electorate.

Accordingly, behind the scenes, on the QT and very hush, hush . . .

JACKSON COUNTY LEGISLATOR CRYSTAL WILLIAMS HAS BEEN THROWING A FIT BECAUSE NOBODY CARES ABOUT HER FEEBLE ATTEMPTS TO NAME HER SUCCESSOR!!!

It's kinda sad that after all these years she still hasn't bothered to learn how Democracy works. Hint: It starts with building coalitions NOT dictating orders for acolytes to mindlessly follow.

Nevertheless and more importantly for voters . . .

Upstart political player Zac Sweets is making waves amongst insiders because he's not waiting for Crystal's blessing as he talks up efforts to launch a campaign for the 2nd District At-Large.

Mr. Sweets has a great name for politics and we notice that more than a few insiders are watching how his campaign unfolds . . .

It'll be interesting to see what kind of fundraising numbers he can achieve but TKC readers should know that he's a Streetcar TDD Board Member and worked with former Kansas City State Senator Jason Holsman. He's a skilled & serious person and part of a youth movement hitting the Courthouse this election cycle.

Moreover . . .

It's fun to watch him cause more than a bit of consternation for Legislator Crystal Williams and her last remaining loyalists.

Developing . . .
