2021: The Year Mayor Q Lost Defund Fight Against Kansas City Police

The municipal politics of this year was almost completely defined by a bitter feud betwixt Mayor Quinton Lucas vs. The leadership of the Kansas City police department.

However, despite bold chatter and politically charged assurances . . . Ultimately, Mayor Q lost his fight.

Let's not forget the decision . . .

"In his ruling, Judge Patrick Campbell said Kansas City cannot change the police department's spending after appropriations without approval from the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners.

"Campbell issued a writ of mandamus that will require the city to put $42.2 million back in the police department's budget for this fiscal year."

The aftermath . . .

Frustrated . . . Mayor Q participated in a sketchy Thanksgiving palace coup against the top cop.

The effort FAILED and neither the Mayor nor the newspaper was able to hurry the retirement of the Chief.

Instead . . . They were only able to spin political falsehoods on the filthy floors of local convenience stores. Most people didn't notice.

Again . . .

We ask . . . If the top cop was "forced out" why was he able to pick the time and place of his cushy retirement that he announced years prior to his impending departure???

More importantly and because one of our favorite & most popular posts of the year DEFINED Mayor Q's anti-cop credentials . . .

Moving forward Mayor Q's outright war against Kansas City police has assured a tougher challenge for Mayor Q's reelection as widespread frustration with his anti-police administration has resonated throughout the metro.

Developing . . .
