Hundreds of students walk out at Shawnee Mission North High School because of sexual assaults

OVERLAND PARK, KS (KCTV) -- Hundreds of Shawnee Mission North High School students walked out of class Monday morning because of what they say are unresolved issues associated with sexual assaults on and near campus. About 250 walked out mid-morning, many carrying signs with anti-assault messages like, "Protect the victims, not the assailants," "It's not a joke," and, "If you don't do something, we will."


Shawnee Mission North students stage walkout on Johnson Drive

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Dozens of students at Shawnee Mission North High School staged a walkout Monday morning. According to a KSHB 41 photographer at the scene, students walked north from the school across Johnson Drive toward a local coffee shop on the north side of the road.
