Our friends across the bridge are looking at organized push back to limit their growing voting power.

Here's a nice way of summarizing the clap back following census growth . . .

The grassroots response to this redistricting drama has been DE-ANNEXATION talk talking hold amongst a growing number of residents across the bridge.

Context and history . . . 

Sometime in the early 90s we remember that former Mayor & current Congressman Cleaver dumped an EPIC landfill on the Northland because KC needed it and he wouldn't lose any votes for it . . . That attitude toward this part of KC persists despite population gains.

Sadly, until the Northland starts organizing and demonstrating they can vote in big numbers CONSISTENTLY . . . Then they'll continue to be a local punching bag.

OPINION AND COMMENTARY The special commission recommending new maps for the Kansas City Council is expected to make its final choices Monday. While the full council has the final say, the commission's opinion will be critical. It must decide how to represent the interests of voters, including those north of the river.
