Following the lead from Prez Biden, the Kansas City Mayor sent a shout out to the trans community.
Overall the feedback was supportive.
Again, most denizens in Kansas City don't know that this cowtown has hosted an inordinate number of trans people who have been targeted and murdered in the urban core.
The quote from the Mayor posted on his socials late yesterday. . .
"On this #TransDayOfRemembrance , we remember the friends, family, partners, and neighbors we have lost too soon and commit to doing the work to ensure all in our community are respected, safe, supported, and welcome."
Like it or not, this is now a MAINSTREAM message amid the cultural shift and the LGBT community garnering more access and influence throughout the American political life.
