Thanks to a TRUSTED AND KICK-ASS KANSAS CITY POWER PLAYER we're able to share just a bit of inside baseball and take a peek at how the Missouri General Assembly ends local "defund the police" argumentation once and for all. 

The basics . . .

KANSAS CITY POLICE WILL HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGH CASH WHEN MISSOURI POLITICOS COUNT THE ENTIRETY OF THE 12TH & OAK BUDGET!!!

Pushing public safety plays well in Jeff City and the smack down against the mayor and so many activists will be a bonus going into midterm election season.

"I'm not sure Mayor Lucas understands that most of the KCMO agreements for funding police were undertaken during a time when city hall wasn't at war with the PD. 

In fact, look closely and notice that income from revenue generating departments like water & aviation has a lot of LEEWAY in accounting for the 20% that the Mayor's loyalists keep harping on . . . 

The 20% figure is basically a gentleman's agreement and if the Mayor & his acolytes want to maintain their litigious tact, then maybe a more strict accounting is in order . . . Either way, look for the Missouri super-majority and even some of Democratic Party officials to INCREASE funding for police in Kansas City and put this unproductive debate to rest."

And so we offer this IMPORTANT FACT to remind readers that so much of politics and negotiation hinges on ACCOUNTING.

Meanwhile, we notice that the Mayor & Council are softening their tone on police defunding this week and this push back talk behind the scenes is a big part of the reason why.
