Expect EPIC Kansas City Cash Settlement After Cameron Lamb Verdict

This might not be the most important aspect of a recent Jackson County court decision but it deserves mention if only because MSM has ignored the sordid topic of coin. 

Reality check . . . 

KANSAS CITY TAXPAYERS CAN EXPECT TO FINANCE AN EPIC SETTLEMENT FOLLOWING THE HISTORIC GUILTY VERDICT IN THE CAMERON LAMB SHOOTING DEATH!!!

We expect that city lawyers won't even bother to fight but instead move quickly to find financing for a settlement.

Sure, the 12th & Oak has insurance for this kind of thing but we're already hearing that the cost could be BUDGET BUSTING as Cares Act cash quickly runs out. 

Here's the word . . .

"First of all, no serious person wears Chiefs gear to a press conference in order to talk about their dead son. With respect to the family's suffering, it's hard to understand all of the crying given the court victory. More importantly . . . KCMO should get ready write a multi-million dollar check that might set a new record for local payouts.  It's going to be one of the biggest settlements we've ever seen." 

This comment tracks. 

Late night we sent word out to insiders and here's what came back our way . . . 

"One of the KC's credit agencies was on the phone to the budget office a few hours after the verdict. They know this is going to be a hit. Everyone is working to avoid an impact to our bond rating." 

And so . . . 

There are plenty of consequences to discuss in the aftermath of the recent verdict but overlooking the looming and EPIC cash payout isn't an option as we approach another season of fighting over money for police.
