Kansas City Star Publishes Trans Teen Take Down Of Blue Valley Politico

School board politics is pretty much the bottom run of local journalism. Karen and her Facebook friends are the only people who really care . . . And only because their husbands stopped paying attention years ago. Yet the slowly dying newspaper is leading with Golden Ghetto debate on the topic of mean tweets today. 

Here's the money line . . . 

Blue Valley school board candidate Jim McMullen is facing mounting backlash over a series of social media posts that some parents and students argue are transphobic, downplay the risks of COVID-19, and question promotion of equity in schools.

Last year, McMullen posted on social media, “there are no 8 year old transgender kids.” He also shared an ABC News article about a mother of a transgender child asking President Joe Biden what he will do to protect LGBTQ rights. McMullen wrote, “ABC promoting a child abuser.”

The newspaper goes on to quote a bunch of children in a sketchy journalistic move that still offers a glimpse at shifting culture in Kansas.
