Kansas City Progressives Fight To Keep COVID Mask Mandate

Something to look forward to in the upcoming week . . .

COUNTDOWN: MOST KANSAS CITY COVID MASK ORDERS ARE SOON TO EXPIRE!!!

At least for the general public; students, teachers and box store workers will likely be masked up through the Winter.

Real talk before we start joking . . .

We hope that locals will show some sympathy to those who chose to keep wearing masks amid an abundance of caution for seniors and many immuno-compromised people still confronting danger from COVID and countless other pathogens that lurk amid public life.

Nevertheless . . .

Many people hope for a conclusion to the phony virtue signaling and pointless debate sparked by face coverings that are actually commonplace in many Asian countries.

And so KICK-ASS READERS proclaim and question . . .

"Five days to go! But seriously, when will the council extend the mask mandate? Tuesday? Or will they wait until Wednesday afternoon?"

That's an EXCELLENT question.

Mayor Q seems to be in favor of letting the order expire but he also said as much last time around.

Interestingly, there's a dueling ordinance contest underway at the Jackson County Courthouse. The debate offers a preview of COVID MASK MANDATE argumentation on the municipal level . . .

Take a look . . .

The Republican and conservative leaning members of the Jackson County Legislature (Dan Tarwater III, Theresa Galvin & Jeanie Lauer) hope to immediately end the mask mandate on Monday.

Meanwhile . . .

Progressives legislators Jalen Anderson, Crystal Williams and Scott Burnett want to extend the mandate until November 22nd.

Again . . .

What we regret is that COVID masks have been mired in partisan bickering with so many hacks attempting to play scientist whilst genuine concern for public health is harder to determine.

And so . . .

THERE'S A KANSAS CITY COVID MASK SHOWDOWN AT 12TH & OAK ON MONDAY!!!

At the very least, the decision will determine the dress code for the holiday season as the pandemic hopefully fades.

Developing . . .
