KANSAS CITY COVID MASK MANDATE EXTENSION MOVES FORWARD!!!

We talked about this last week and now it's new fact . . .

Mayor Q and most of his council colleagues are endorsing more mask mandates despite a recent decline in COVID-19 numbers.

Here's the assurance from a city hall honcho who has had a great deal of trouble keeping his mask on . . .

Mayor Quinton Lucas is hopeful the city will be out of the high transmission zone if the trends continue for another month.

"I do not want this to be an order that sticks around after our next order expiration," Lucas said. "I think we have seen positive progress such that we will come to the end of the mask mandate at the beginning of November. I think that will be important for Kansas Citians."

Of course he promised the same thing a month ago.

Here's a peak the the goalposts that will certainly might be moved . . .

Kansas City remains in what the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention classifies as a state of "high transmission."

The city's goal over the next few weeks is to get more people vaccinated and the number of new COVID-19 cases down to 100 per 100,000 people. If this extension passes, it will run until Nov. 4.
