Kansas City 2021 Homicide Count Hits #128 After Dead Body Dumped

The upcoming holiday season is typically more violent and this time around it seems even worse.

The latest update on a body that was discovered near an illegal dumping ground . . .

Yesterday, just before 9am, officers were called to the area of E 37th St and Oakley Ave in regard to a dead body.   The calling party, a city employee, was in the area to check on illegal dumping activity and discovered the victim and called 911.  This case has been ruled a homicide.  Anyone with information is urged to call detectives at 816-234-5043.  Or call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.  There is up to a $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.

Again, this is homicide number 128 compared to 156 at this time last year and 125 the year before that . . .

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Police say they are now investigating a body found Tuesday by a Kansas City, Missouri, city employee as a homicide. Around 9 a.m. Tuesday morning , a city employee was investigating an illegal dumping complaint near E. 37th Street and Oakley Avenue when they discovered the body.

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -- The Kansas City Police Department says a death investigation that started Tuesday morning has been ruled a homicide. The KCPD provided the updated on Wednesday morning, saying that anyone with information should call detectives at 816-234-5043. Tipsters can also call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
