Kansas City 2021 Homicide #122: Deadly Shooting Near Chestnut Ave

Deadly gunfire rang out this afternoon in Kansas City as local violence continues to escalate in the last quarter of the year. 

Again, this is the 122nd homicide compared to 153 last year and 120 the year before that. 

Here's the 1st report . . . 

Homicide 4500 block of Chestnut

Around 3 PM this afternoon, officers were in the area of 46 and Benton when they heard gunshots. They notified dispatch of sound of shots and around the same time a shooting call came out in the 4500 block of Chestnut. Upon arrival officers were contacted by the reporting party who said someone had been shot inside of a residence. When officers entered the residence they found an adult male who had been shot and was deceased. There is no suspect information at this time.

Detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to the scene and are actively canvassing for witnesses and processing the scene. Kansas City police investigating homicide in 4500 block of Chestnut

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) --- Kansas City police are investigating the city's 122nd homicide of 2021. Police say an adult male was found dead inside a home shortly after 3 p.m. in the 4500 block of Chestnut. Investigators say he was shot. There is no immediate suspect information at this time.
