Deadly Gunfire Near Troost Spikes Kansas City 2021 Homicide Count To #129

Last night Kansas City recorded the 5th homicide so far this week.

Again, so far the total is 129 compared to 156 at this time last year and 125 the year before that . . .

Homicide E 43rd St. and Troost Avenue

Just before 3am, officers were called to the area of E 43rd Street and Troost Ave on sounds of gunshots.  Upon their arrival, officers located an apparent crime scene at that location.

A short time later, a victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds arrived to the hospital by private conveyance.  The victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to the scene.  They will be processing the scene for evidence and canvassing for any potential witnesses.

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -- Police are investigating an early morning homicide in Kansas City. According to officials, the incident happened at E 43rd and Troost. No other details have been released. KCTV5 has a crew headed to this scene and will update the story as more details are released.

According to release, officers first responded to the area of Troost Avenue and E 43rd Street on reports of a shots fired at around 3:00 a.m. Upon arrival, officers located a crime scene several gun shell casings on the street.
