Dave Helling Vs. Mayor Q: Who Won Fight Over New KCI Corruption?!?

After a recent dust-up with the so-called Kansas City "paper of record" over the fate of a New KCI concessions agreement . . . Mayor Q might've been forced to imagine a world wherein he no longer holds the unconditional love of progressive white people.

Clearly it was a terrifying prospect given how harshly the politico lashed out.

We talked about it previously and now that the dust has settled, a serious question lingers.

The only thing we know for sure is that the popularity of Mayor Q has quickly started to fade among his most loyal and last remaining fans.

But it gets worse . . .

Mayor Q suggestion The Star was "on the take" revealed an uncharacteristic bit of emotion and shows us all that this New KCI hot mess is a bit more serious than most locals care to understand.

Whilst the newspaper is busy navel-gazing they have neglected to report an simple fact: Mayor Q is going up against some of the biggest law firms in Kansas City and they're prepared to fight for a contract worth at least ONE BILLION DOLLARS.

Moreover . . .

The lawyers usually determine the politics of Kansas City and if Mayor Q loses their support he could be confronting a tougher primary challenge than he can imagine and something that his PR hacks & Twitter bots can't forestall.

However . . .

That's all inside baseball that doesn't excite everyone . . .

Finally, here's the more interesting TKC question . . .

WHO DO YOU BELIEVE?!?! DAVE HELLING QUESTIONING NEW KCI BIDDING TRANSPARENCY OR MAYOR Q HURLING CORRUPTION ALLEGATIONS?!?!

It's an uncomfortable quandary for everyone involved and that's why even the newspaper is now attempting to downplay the drama as more behind the scenes drama threatens an increasingly embattled administration.

Developing . . .
