VIOLENCE WORSENS INSIDE TOXIC KANSAS CITY HOMELESS CAMP!!!

Recently, urban insiders learned of dire circumstances inside an embattled Kansas City homeless camp and the deets might inspire many "homeless advocates" to change their tune about misguided policy from 12th & Oak.

To wit . . .

REPORT: KANSAS CITY HOMELESS CONFRONT WORSENING VIOLENCE AT A CONTROVERSIAL URBAN CORE HOMELESS CAMP!!!

Here's the word from a trusted TKC Reader . . .

"This week I was fortunate enough to have a conversation with a house-less person near the former Chouteau Courts homeless camp and warned him about the possibility an upcoming sweep. He responded by sharing some horrific details about the challenges he's confronting that reveal a lot about this untenable KCMO homeless camping situation."

"He told me that the homeless are being preyed upon inside the camp. There's a small gang of criminals who function like prison-yard 'keymen' and extort money, threaten violence and prey upon other homeless campers. They threaten weaker homeless denizens with knifes, machetes and violence if they don't comply. The homeless camper also spoke of really heartbreaking allegations of sexual assault and petty robbery of money and food."

A hope for accountability . . .

"These nightmarish circumstances can be traced directly back to decisions made by Mayor Lucas and his horrible plan for dealing with the homeless."

"Allowing these illegal camps to continue has been a tactical mistake and entire neighborhoods are paying for his poor judgement."

"We're talking about vulnerable populations who not only are dealing with environmental dangers but now have to cope with the reality of unchecked KC violence."

The summation . . .

"What's unfortunate here is that Mayor Quinton Lucas and his homeless villages have created a dangerous situation that's endangering the very same people he claims he wants to help."

"The homeless aren't better off in illegal camps where they are being targeted with violence. And I only hope the Mayor's office responds before things get even worse."
