Kansas City Royals Downtown Stadium 2nd Choice: The Dotte!!!

This morning our blog community is privy to a cultural shift in the Kansas City sports world that will resonate across the metro for YEARS.

And then some . . .

But first a bit of background . . .

Per ushe, TKC moves about 10 years ahead of every other news outlet in Kansas City and just about every one of our predictions has come to pass. So try to keep up . . .

Here's the future . . .

THE KANSAS CITY ROYALS NOW FIELD SERIOUS OFFERS FOR A DOWNTOWN STADIUM IN THE DOTTE!!!

The move makes sense for a lot of reasons, here are more than a few talking points playing out amongst insiders . . .

With a move to Downtown KCK the Royals can shift the narrative and arrive as saviors not greedy developers.

Better than their Missouri counterparts, Kansas politicos are more "cooperative" with incentives and deals that favor major attractions like the Royals.

There was NEVER a truce in the economic border war betwixt Missouri Vs. Kansas and taking the Royals away from Missouri would be a major victory that could power the careers of Sunflower State leaders for at least a decade.

For even the most staunch red state conservative Kansas Republican . . . There's no shame in approving generous subsidy in order to help create jobs and foster economic growth. Sadly, given the recent partisan/culture war slap fighting between KCMO vs. Jeff City - The Missouri GOP Super Majority has absolutely NO WILL TO HELP THIS COWTOWN and they're openly hostile toward freebies.

STAR BONDS hold the key to luring the Royals and crafting "transformative" economic plans for Downtown KCK.

Technically, they'd still be "The Kansas City Royals" and the move would help create even more confusion about location of our two cities in the minds of Americans.

Again . . . The political climate of KCK and The Dotte is simply more amenable to an ambitious downtown stadium deal.

Politicos in JoCo are too pesky locked into MAGA paranoia to play ball and we've seen that KCMO leaders are far too self-important to be swayed by a B-list baseball team.

The Royals seemed honestly surprised by public sentiment and polling which objected to overwhelming taxpayer subsidy of a downtown stadium.

Meanwhile . . . The Dotte has no problem giving away the store in order to garner street cred, jobs and a boost in their tax base. Reality: The Royals would dictate their own terms and have a nearly blank slate to develop a world-class custom development in The Dotte.

For these reasons and many more . . .

Behind the scenes, on the QT and very hush, hush . . . The Kansas City Royals are seriously entertaining Downtown KCK and The Dotte for their next home and the move is more than just a possibility but a viable alternative with discussions already underway.

Developing . . .
