Kansas City Homicide #107: Deadly Gunfire Echoes Near East Patrol

Local violence continues to plague Kansas City amid worsening hardship brought on by the pandemic. 

Tonight, police were already at the scene of the latest KCMO deadly shooting . . . Here's the first report for what is, unofficially, the 107th killing so far this year compared to 141 at this time last year.

Homicide E 30th St/Wabash Ave

Tonight around 9:30 pm, officers who were outside East Patrol Station heard sounds of gunshots in the area.  Those officers immediately began canvassing the area and within minutes a shooting call came in at E 30th St/Wabash Ave.  Upon arrival, officers located the victim, an adult male, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in the street.  EMS responded and transported the victim to an area hospital.

The victim succumbed to his injuries at the hospital and has been pronounced deceased.

Detectives and Crime Scene Personnel have responded to the scene.  They will be processing the scene for evidence and canvassing for any potential witnesses.
