Kansas City Gunfire Victim Found Dead In Westport Intersection

Overnight Kansas City suffered its latest deadly shooting as police responded to the sound of gunfire that echoed through the Midtown entertainment district after most patrons were on their way home. 

Here is the first report as www.TonysKansasCity.com unofficially counts this as the 106th homicide so far this year compared to 140 at this time last year and 109 the year before that . . . 

 Homicide 315 Westport

This morning just after 3 am, off duty officers working in the area were notified by Westport security of sound of shots near Westport Road and Broadway. Officers responded and found an adult male in the street to the east of the intersection. That male had been shot and EMS responded and pronounced him deceased.

Detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to the scene and are actively canvassing for witnesses and collecting evidence.
