Local archaeologists uncover artifacts during bridge replacement project
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Whenever MoDOT begins construction on land that is considered a site of early settlements, archaeologists are required to be on site. This allows them to ensure cultural resources are not impacted. When construction began along 5th and Washington, as part of the Buck O'Neil Bridge Replacement Project, cultural resource specialists at Burns & McDonnell made a few discoveries.
'Extensive closures coming' as Buck O'Neil Bridge work enters new phase
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Things are going to get a lot worse before they get better for thousands of drivers. The Missouri Department of Transportation warns construction on the new Buck O'Neil Bridge will cause extensive closures beginning next week. MoDOT said will close the on-ramp from northbound Richards Rd.
