"Just after 10 am this morning, officers were called to the area of Truman Road and Bennington Ave in regard to a shooting.  While officers were one their way to the area, we received a separate 911 call stating there was an injury crash at the same location.  Upon officer’s arrival, they observed a two vehicle collision.  One of the vehicles involved in the crash had apparent, exterior bullet damage.  Officers located an adult female victim and a juvenile victim inside of that car.  Neither of the victims appeared to have been struck by gunfire, however, had non-life threatening injuries believed to have occurred in the crash. Both were transported to area hospitals in stable condition.

"Preliminary information suggests the victims in the aforementioned vehicle were attempting to flee from the suspects of the shooting when the crash occurred.  Officers located two victims inside the second vehicle involved in the crash who were both transported to area hospitals with life threatening injuries from the crash.  Both of those victims are currently listed in critical condition.  The victims in the second vehicle were not involved in the original shooting call.

"Investigators obtained potential suspect information from the witnesses at the shooting/crash scene, which led them to a townhome in the 2000 block of Park Tower Drive.  Officers responded and made contact with two individuals who came out of the residence.  Due to the potential of additional people who may inside the residence, a police standoff/OP 100 has been called to bring additional tactical resources and negotiators to the scene.  We are attempting to contact anyone who may still be inside the townhome.  Detectives have also responded to both scenes."
