2 KCMO police officers suffer non-life threatening injuries in crash

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Two officers from the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department were injured following a hit-and-run crash that happened early Sunday morning. According to KCPD, the incident happened near Truman Avenue and Cleveland Avenue at around 1:14 a.m. An initial investigation indicated the KCPD car was heading north when it entered the intersection during a green light.

Kansas City police seek driver who fled after hitting police cruiser

Police vehicle, lights (file photo) SOURCE: KMBC Kansas City police said they are searching for a driver who fled the scene after hitting a police cruiser, injuring two police officers.Authorities said the marked police car was heading north when it went through the intersection at Truman Road and Cleveland Avenue and was hit by an eastbound Chrysler sedan.Two officers were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.Accident investigators said the patrol car had a green light at the time of the crash.Police said the driver of the Chrysler fled.

KCKPD officers responded to the area on reports of a shooting at around 5:23 a.m. When they arrived, officers found a man in his late 20's or early 30's, suffering from several gun shot wounds.

INDEPENDENCE, MO (KCTV) -- Independence police are investigating a Saturday night fatal accident that left one person dead and others with serious injuries. According to IPD, the accident happened around 10:33 Saturday night. A black Acura was traveling at a high rate of speed on MO-291 when it struck a Ford Taurus that was turning left onto 23rd street.
