KANSAS CITY SUFFERS TWO HOMICIDES OVERNIGHT!!!

Gunfire dominated the late night as the KCMO homicide count continues to steadily climb amid the dog days of Summer. 

To wit . . .

AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATE TWO APPARENT HOMICIDES COUNTED IN KANSAS CITY LAST NIGHT FOR A TOTAL OF 4 SO FAR THIS WEEKEND!!!

Unofficially, this brings the 2021 homicide count up to 97 compared to around 117 during last year's record breaking killing spree and 88 the year before that . . .

The first Saturday night killing resulted after tempers flared at this Westside gathering spot . . . 

Homicide 3100 block of Southwest Blvd

Just before 11pm, officers were called to the Quik Trip at 3101 Southwest Blvd in regard to sounds of gunshots.  While officers were en route, the call was upgraded to a shooting.  Upon arrival, officers located the victim, an adult white male, who was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds outside in the parking lot.  EMS responded to the scene and declared the victim deceased.

Preliminary information suggests there was an argument leading up to the shooting.  Police have detained one subject of interest in regard.

Detectives and Crime Scene Personnel have responded to the scene.  Detectives will be speaking with witnesses.  Crime Scene Personnel will be processing the scene for evidence.

Report on a double shooting early this morning . . . 

Homicide 5200 block of Wayne Avenue

Just after 12:30 am, officers were called to the 5200 block of Wayne on a reported shooting.  Upon arrival, officers located two victims inside a vehicle who were suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  EMS responded to the scene and transported one of the victims to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries.  The second victim was declared deceased at the scene by EMS.

Detectives and Crime Scene Personnel have responded to the scene.  They will be processing the scene for evidence and canvassing for any potential witnesses.
