KANSAS CITY DEADLY DOUBLE GUNFIRE STARTS MONDAY!!!

Police investigate a HORRIFIC crime scene this morning as yelling and shooting started the day in an embattled section of this cowtown.

We think this might be homicide #90 but at the time of this writing the local killing count, the KCPD count reveals the number stands at 89 compared to 115 at this time last year.

Homicide 1600 block of Citadel

This morning right at 6am officers were dispatched to an apartment in the 1600 block of citadel on sounds of a disturbance. Callers heard the sounds of a verbal altercation then what sounded like gunshots.

When officers arrived they were directed into an apartment where they located two people unresponsive that appeared to have been shot. 

EMS responded and declared both victims (an adult male and adult female) deceased at the scene.

There is no information on suspect(s) description at this time. Detectives are canvassing for witnesses to hopefully gather more information. Crime scene investigators are processing the scene for evidence to get a better idea of what led to the disturbance.

This is a large apartment complex and many people may have been just waking up when this occurred. Detectives are hopeful that people may have seen or heard something, no matter how small that may help.

2 found dead, homicide investigation underway
