Kansas City 2021 Homicide #102: Deadly Shooting Overnight

The sound of gunfire echoed though Kansas City streets in the early morning hours. 

Police rushed to the scene only to discover this cowtown's latest murder scene. 

Unofficially, www.TonysKansasCity.com puts this year's homicide count at 102 compared to 130 at this time last year for a total of 179 killings, 99 in 2019 (151), 89 in 2018 (138) and 100 in 2017 (151). 

Here's the first report . . .

Homicide 7900 block of E 112th St

This morning just after 2:15am, officers were called to the 7900 block of E 112th Street in regard to a disturbance with sounds of shots.  While en route, the call was upgraded to a shooting.  Upon arrival, officers located the victim, an adult male, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  EMS responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

Detectives and Crime Scene Personnel have responded to the scene.  Detectives are speaking to witnesses and canvassing the area for additional witnesses.  Crime Scene Personnel will be processing the scene for evidence.
