Trash Amnesty Starts After Kansas City July 4th Garbage Fire!!!

Here at TKC our blog community believes that real local "journalism" involves providing readers with a "sense of place" and reporting the reality of life in our town, Kansas City.

To wit . . .

WITHOUT QUESTION THE COVID COMEBACK JULY 4TH WEEKEND WAS A TOTAL KANSAS CITY GARBAGE FIRE!!!

Rampant shootings, more than two dozen fires and complete disrespect, a ton of injuries and disregard for community and the rules that KEEP US ALL SAFE marked the national holiday as the pandemic is hopefully coming to a conclusion.

We've documented the disaster over the course of today but now we leave close readers with some news that might be useful . . .

Trash Amnesty starts Tuesday.

This is important because a weekend of gunfire, fireworks and locals getting really sloppy has left this town a total mess.

In fact, Kansas City is already running behind in cleaning up local parks that are an absolute disaster.

And so, here's more data on the trash amnesty . . .

Independence Day observed Monday, July 5, 2021.  Trash and recycling will run a day delayed all week. Amnesty Week/No-tag pickup will run Tuesday, July 6 - Saturday, July 10.

The limit is around 15 bags.

Residents might want to start early because of the heat and, of course, even more trash pickup delays are expected.

More importantly . . .

In our newsletter tonight we ask our KICK-ASS SUBSCRIBERS if this trashy Kansas City weekend is merely the tipping point of more violence. Sign up and take part in the conversation and desperate search for solutions!!!
