In fairness . . . We should point out another angle of the COVID mask slap fight:

By & large there's a significant effort from local parents & teachers to follow CDC mask guidance.

Whilst local small biz rages over lost cash . . . The situation in schools is more complex given the wide array of demographics that public education serves. 

Moreover, Internets denizens like to talk tough about weeding out weak adults but that logic doesn't fly in a conversation about students and older education workers.

Blue Valley, Olathe parents start petitions for mandatory masks in schools

Right now masks will be optional this fall for students at Olathe and Blue Valley schools.But some parents are wanting school leaders to do more. "I want children safely in schools. Period," said Dr. Melissa Gener, Blue Valley parent and pediatric pathologist.

Park Hill School District to comply with KCMO mask mandate

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Park Hill School District will require masks for anyone 5 years old or older at district facilities, regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status. District leaders announced the change Thursday to be in compliance with Kansas City, Missouri, Mayor Quinton Lucas' renewed mask mandate, which goes into effect on Monday.
