Kansas City 2021 Homicide #85 Near 7000 Block Of Monroe

More deadly gunfire starts the Kansas City news cycle as the local homicide count inches upward this Summer.

Here's the report on the 85th homicide so far this year compared to 107 at this time last year, 79 in 2019, 66 in 2018 and 85 in 2017 . . .

Just before 3 AM officers were dispatched to the 7000 block of Monroe in regard to a shooting. Upon arrival they found an adult male victim who had been shot. EMS responded and pronounced the victim deceased. Detectives do not have any suspect information at this time and are asking for assistance from the public.

Officers were called to the 7000 block of Monroe Avenue at about 3 a.m. A man was found shot to death at the scene. There is no suspect information at this time and police are looking for anyone who might have information.

KCPD says officers responded to the shooting just before 3 a.m. on Friday in the 7000 block of Monroe, which is near the intersection of Gregory and Cleveland. They found the adult male victim at the scene, emergency responders pronounced him deceased.
