As Kansas City emerges from the pandemic it's interesting that "awards season" is starting exceptionally early.
People who know publishing realize that local biz prizes are nothing more than an old school print gambit and socially acceptable "pay for play" scheme . . . Which is fine, everybody is entitled to make a buck.
However . . .
We notice council dude bunch dressing up and wielding an ax in this cringe-y "Best Of" commercial that kinda proves that only a few dozen people read The Pitch anymore.
