KANSAS CITY, Kan. - A Kansas City, Kansas, police officer shot someone Friday afternoon. Officers responded around 4:15 p.m.to the area of 50th and Vista streets, where the shooting occurred. It's unclear what the nature of the call was or if the person police encountered was armed.

Kansas City, Kansas, police said they are investigating a deadly shooting Friday afternoon involving police officers.Police said the officers were called at 3:44 p.m. to a reported disturbance in the 5000 block of Vista Street that was later upgraded to a shooting.When officers arrived at the scene, police said the suspect, who was still armed with a weapon, approached the officers.Officers opened fire, killing the suspect, authorities said.This story is developing.
