He was killed by gunfire in his bed and his story resonated and sparked debate across the nation.

Nothing will ever bring back this innocent youngster but recounting his life has value nevertheless and despite the best efforts of those who would put politics above reverence for a young life cut far too short.

KANSAS CITY, Mo.- Family, friends and the community came together this evening to remember the life of 4-year-old LeGend Taliferro. One year ago he was shot and killed while he slept at the Citadel Apartments on 63 rd and Paseo. "That's what I miss most though, him calling me, talking to me, us playing basketball, and stuff like that.


'Put the guns down': LeGend Taliferro's family gathers 1 year after boy's death

One year ago, a Kansas City, Missouri, family lost their 4-year-old boy because of gun violence. LeGend Taliferro was shot and killed while sleeping in a fort made of pillows and covers in his own home. Someone sprayed their house with bullets, and LeGend was the one who paid the price.
