TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! JACKSON COUNTY PROPERTY TAX ASSESSMENT SPIKE HITS LOCALS HARD AFTER COVID!!!

Americans confront skyrocketing inflation in every aspect of their budget but now worsening economic circumstances hit closer to home.

Just as we warned last week . . .

JACKSON COUNTY HOME OWNERS SUFFER ANOTHER PROPERTY TAX SPIKE AS REASSESSMENTS RESTART!!!

Here's the word from a friend of the blog . . .

"20% spike for my modest home in Brookside. This is insane. I know there was a problem with the assessments in 2018 but I was hoping that the increases were going to be incremental after all the criticism. I've talked to a few friends and not all of them are seeing this kind of massive increase. I guess I'm just lucky. Sending word your way to that some of your readers who are also seeing this kind of uptick will know that they have the right to appeal."

Once again we point locals to more resources on this topic.

To start . . .

The 2021 appeal filing deadline is July 12, 2021.

To be fair, we've asked around about this one and many of the assessment increases do, in fact, seem to be modest.

Nevertheless . . . Quite a few homeowners are reporting some kind property tax increase in the midst of a pandemic housing crunch
