This afternoon the mayor of Kansas City earned a nice bit of publicity by way of standing with the strongest dude in the Democratic Party: Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
It's not really important what he said, just that the 12th and Oak Honcho is quickly improving his profile on the national level... Which may or may not help locals get their trash picked up, fix potholes or reduce the murder rate.

Mayor Lucas joined Nancy Pelosi in D.C. to speak on U.S. infrastructure plans
Mayor Lucas joined other U.S Mayors, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Senior Members of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee to speak on the future of U.S. infrastructure. Kansas City was recognized as a city that was taking initiative to solve problems that are large national issues by Peter Defazio, chairman of the House T&I Committee.
